The idea for this scheme is simple. Submit one film you've made, and let it speak for itself.
It could be shot on anything from a phone, to a cinema camera, what matters is the story, and the passion.
We can't wait to see what you've got!
We are in a state at the moment where talented young filmmakers sit dormant for years, their main jobs being getting tea and coffee. With platforms like TikTok and Youtube showcasing what young talent can truly achieve, it makes sense that these young people should be given a chance to prove what they can do.
We want to find talented young filmmakers, who, with resources and assistance, could create genre-defining content that young people can relate to on a level like never before.
We want to find and nurture young talent at an age where they can create content that can uniquely engage young audiences with platforms that have long struggled with the elusive 16-35 age range.
By submitting a film, you could win:
- The chance to direct a fully funded short documentary, with access to equipment, software, and editorial assistance.
- Access to an industry mentor to help you through the early stages of your career.
- A development opportunity to create, and direct content for channels like BBC3, Netflix, and E4.
Submissions open on the 1st March 2021, and close on the 31st March 2021.
By the May 1st, we will have contacted the successful applicants about the next stage of the application process. If you haven't been contacted by then, we're sorry but your application has been unsuccessful this time.
From May 1st onwards, we will work with the selected applicants on the next stage of the process, and by July 31st we will have announced the successful candidates.
Submitting an application is as simple as completing the form below.
We'll ask you for your personal details, and some diversity monitoring information, but both of those aspects will be handled by a different team to the judging team.
This means that the judges that watch your film will be watching it completely blind, and will be making their decisions solely on the potential your film shows.
